Graduation Requirements

All Cal Coast Academy graduates must fulfill the following school and UC/CSU graduation requirements:

1. Complete a minimum of 230 credits. Five credits are awarded for completion of a semester course. The following credits are required for graduation:

• English : 40 credits, 4 years (English 9, 10, 11, 12)
• Mathematics : 30 credits, 3 years (Algebra I required)
• Social Studies : 30 credits, 3 years (World History, US History, Government, and Economics)
• Science : 20 credits, 2 years (1 yea Biological and 1 year Physical)
• PE : 20 credits, 2 years
• Practical Arts : 10 credits, 1 year
• Visual & Performing Arts : 10 credits, 1 year
• Health : 5 credits, 1 semester
• Electives : 65 credits (30 credits must be from a World Language)

2. Complete 100 hours of documented Community Service
3. Complete 3 years of the same World Language

Graduation requirements will not be waived. For-credit courses are available before and after school hours for any student needing to fulfill graduation requirements or make up missing credits. Accredited courses are also offered by Cal Coast Academy during Summer.

Independent PE credits are also available for the students who qualify.
