Our School

Cal Coast Academy is an independent, co-educational, non-sectarian college preparatory school for students sixth through twelfth grades throughout San Diego County. As a college preparatory school , Cal Coast Academy believes that certain skills, knowledge, and the ability to reason are necessary to meet the demands of a college education and benefit from it. The school's affiliation with SIBS reflects the belief that knowledge combined with community service better enables students to function as caring, effective adults in today's world.

Cal Coast Academy provides a supportive, yet challenging environment, in which students can learn and succeed. We offer a full program of basic education and related services including classes dedicated to students with learning exceptionalities. We are a bridge from disability to ability for special needs students and enable all students to reach their full academic potential. Our intimate class size of 6 students allows teachers and students to more easily achieve academic and personal interaction as they explore concepts in a more collegial atmosphere. A 6 to 1 student-teacher ratio, strong academics & community service, set the stage for Cal Coast Academy's students to explore a wide range of opportunities, allowing them to learn skills and develop their talents as they learn more about themselves and how to make their way in an increasingly complex society.

Community service is essential to meeting the goals of an independent school education, and Cal Coast Academy's students in all seven grade levels complete a yearly community service requirement.

Cal Coast Academy is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and is a member of the College Board, the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), is University of California approved and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) certified.
