History

Thank you for your interest in Cal Coast Academy. 

Cal Coast Academy is a WASC and UC accredited school under the leadership of Jan Dunning.  In 1977, Jan was the first to open a tutoring service in San Diego county.  In 1997 several parents urged Jan to expand her tutoring service into a full-time school.  Jan's objective is to provide customized education in order to meet the unique needs of each student.  Many of the Cal Coast Academy students, grades 6 - 12, participate in extra-curricular activities that require flexible scheduling.

The Cal Coast Academy student body includes ballerinas, equestrian riders, surfers, golfers and skateboarders, who compete on the National and International level. 

Cal Coast Academy also tailor makes instruction for students with learning exceptionalities.  95% of Cal Coast students have been accepted to the University of their choice.

Cal Coast Academy offers both full-time and part-time programs, where students attend classes with a maximum of eight other individuals in order to allow for student involvement in the learning process.
