Cal Coast Academy's esteemed founder and director is Jan Dunning. Cal Coast Academy evolved from its original conception as the North County Center for Educational Development tutoring agency, to becoming the premiere K-12 alternative to public school instruction.  Accruing over thirty years of experience as a reputable educator and business owner, Dunning conceived and established customized education, the avant-garde learning model, serving students and families in San Diego's diversified North County. Jan Dunning's innovative learning model of a 6:1 student/teacher ratio, is leading the educational movement by elevating modern education to its pinnacle. Creating a customized learning program for the individualistic and holistic needs for each student is the cornerstone of Dunning's learning model.
